This scheme for a new house in the Louth conservation area takes advantage of a sloping infill site between existing pre-war houses. The lower levels of the building form an earth retaining structure and are set into the hillside, reducing the overall height of the dwelling from the street. The first floor is set back providing a covered terrace and is repeated at the second floor master bedroom suite. This gives a terraced elevation following the existing slope of the site and steps the building up towards the adjoining house, also extended as part of the scheme, framing it as a view from the street.
