Old Nick Theatre, Gainsborough

A feasibility study to investigate potential reuse/redevelopment options for the grade 2 listed former police station and magistrates court. Options were investigated for conversion of the existing ground floor for theatre, bistro and multi-purpose workshop use. Disabled access alterations and reworking of the auditorium and back-stage facilities provide flexible and accessible spaces suitable for a range of theatre, conference and internet broadcasting uses. The rear of the site is redeveloped for a business incubator facility, with studio/offices, communal reception, meeting and breakout spaces.
