A major estate regeneration project for the London Borough of Lewisham. The project involved carrying out a feasibilty study for Estate Action funding involving resident consultation across this 1200 dwelling estate, leading a team of consultants and negotiating with housing associations and other organisations to identify and procure the best range of solutions for the area. Options investigated included partial demolition and redevelopment of parts of the estate with a larger proportion of family accommodation, as well as conversion and refurbishment of the existing stock and improvement of external areas to provide play areas and private courtyards and gardens. Working with residents, the team also put forward proposals for new communal facilities including a health centre and nursery as well as community-run businesses such as cafes, launderette and bakery.
