Lincoln Surestart

This new Children's Centre provides daycare nursery facilities for babies and children up to 5 years old, as well as health, advice and training facilities for parents. A community cafe and toy library form the focus of the building as part of the entrance foyer, with a nursery and training/healthcare wing on each side. The building incorporates passive stack natural ventilation, and is designed for controlled passive solar gain. It has rainwater recycling and solar water heating installations. A south facing access spine connects all rooms in the building while maintaining visual connection and orientation with the external green space.
