St George’s Church Regeneration Project

Conversion of St George’s Church in Scunthorpe for shared worship and community use.
The main nave and chancel remain an open space as an auditorium for large gatherings, open to the South aisle at ground floor level. Both aisles have gallery floors inserted, with separate enclosed ‘pods’ for meetings and small groups. New kitchen, WC and ancillary spaces are provided under the North aisle gallery and existing vestry spaces. Extensions to the East frontage provide a new main entrance and lift /stair core giving full access into and within the church, as well as creating a bold and welcoming presence on Frodingham Road.
