Sophie Austin joins Elvis and Scooby Doo to raise funds

Sophie Austin Nottingham Half Marathon for MS Society

place : architecture’s Sophie Austin was in action this weekend, competing in the Ikano Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

With an official time of 2hr, 9mins and 26 seconds, Sophie just made it under her own target of 2hrs10 and has already raised close to £250 so far. Although Sophie has twice completed the Lincoln 10k, the half marathon is a first.  On a glorious day in Nottingham, Sophie joined a field of nearly 13,000 which included runners of all ages and abilities and even a Scooby Doo and an Elvis impersonator.  Sophie, a senior designer said “it was a good day for it and the atmosphere was amazing.  I seem to be fairing well today and although I’m not in a rush to tie up my laces again soon, I’ll never say never and next time, it could be the full marathon!”  Well done to Sophie from everyone on the Place Architecture team.

Charity Golf Day Raises £2500 for Dove Hospice and The Daisy Appeal

A recent charity golf day attended by Place Architecture raised over £2500 for two charities.

On Friday 21st August we were delighted to be invited by Hobson & Porter to attend a charity golf tournament, in aid of the Dove House Hospice and the Daisy Appeal, at Ganstead Park Golf Club in Hull. Our team consisted of Richard Hunt and Andy Beach from Hobson & Porter, Russ Wallis from Globe Consultants, and Place Architecture’s Matt Padley. A thoroughly enjoyable day and, despite the varying level of golfing abilities, another another round is in the offing in the near future.
